We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate interested in studying light-driven DNA repair in proteins. You will gain valuable expertise in state of the art optical techniques, including Stark spectroscopy, ultrafast laser spectroscopy, and single molecule microscopy.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to learn about recombinant DNA and molecular biology techniques, as well as protein expression, purification, and characterization. We also use quantum chemical computing extensively to support our experimental work.

Your background can be in physical chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or related fields, but a fearless approach to instrumentation, including computers, is an asset.

It is hoped to fill the position no later than October 2009 and an earlier start date s possible. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal one or more years based on mutual consent and continued funding.
