Materials to be submitted to the UWF Graduate School

  1. You must complete and submit the UWF Graduate Application and $30 processing fee.
    • Applications for admission will not be processed more than one year in advance of the date for which entrance is sought.
    • Please contact the Graduate School (850) 473-7716 or toll free (866) 931-4872 or email gradadmissions@uwf.edu if you have any questions about the application process.
    • You will need to have a U.S. Social Security Number. Contact your nearest U.S. Social Security Office to apply for a number if necessary, before submitting this form. The social security number is not a permanent student identifier and will not be required for student identification purposes. Student will receive a permanent UWF ID number which serves as his/her permanent student identifier. UWF uses social security numbers to assist in matching test scores and transcripts of applicants. State and federal reporting require social security numbers. UWF will not disclose the social security number of any student to anyone except as required by law, permitted by the student or approved by the President or designee.
  2. Official Transcripts must be submitted
    • It is the responsibility of the applicant to request one official transcript be sent to the Graduate School from every college and university attended. Transcripts of work completed at UWF will be obtained by Graduate Admissions. Request that your current name and Social Security Number be added to the transcript if necessary. All transcripts become the sole property of the university.

  3. Official Test Scores
    • The GRE, MAT, or GMAT scores are considered official only when they are sent directly to the Graduate School, Attention: Graduate Admissions, from the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey. Student copies are not considered official.
    • Verbal and quantitative GRE/GMAT scores or scaled MAT scores are required for all graduate applications regardless of academic qualifications.

Materials to be submitted to the Environmental Studies Department

  1. A formal letter of interest, background, and professional goals, including a preference for the thesis or non-thesis track. Applicants for the thesis track are encouraged to contact departmental faculty in their field of interest before applying to secure availability of a thesis advisor.
  2. Three letters of recommendation by individuals in professionally relevant fields.
  3. A current curriculum vitae.
Upon the submission of a completed application, it will be reviewed by the departmental graduate program committee. If all requirements are met a decision is usually made within four weeks.
