As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to encouraging women to excel in computing and technology, we are pleased to announce the 2009 Google Global Community Scholarship to help students attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference in Tucson, Arizona on September 30 - October 3, 2009. Conference details can be found at www.gracehopper.org.
A group of female students outside of the USA will be chosen from the applicant pool. We encourage women from throughout the world to apply. Each selected student will receive up to $2,750 USD for airfare, hotel, conference registration and other travel requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must be:
* Enrolled full-time in their undergraduate or graduate study in a university outside of the United States
* In Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field major
* Maintaining a strong academic background with demonstrated leadership ability

Please mention that you are applying for the Google Global Community Scholarship in the first sentence of the essay portion of your application.
Required materials for online submission will include:
* Name and email
* Summer contact information
* Current and permanent address and phone number
* University name, faculty member contact information
* Estimated travel costs for the conference
* Answers to a few short answer questions and one essay question
All applications must be submitted by May 27, 2009. Results will be announced through the Anita Borg Institute by email on or before August 1, 2009.
